1. What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on your device (computer, tablet, or mobile phone) when you visit a website. They are widely used to make websites work more efficiently and to provide information to the website owner.

Cookies allow us to recognize your device and remember information about your visit — such as your login status, preferences, and how you use our Services. This helps us provide you with a better experience and allows certain features of our platform to function correctly.

We also use similar technologies such as web beacons (also called pixel tags or clear GIFs), which are small transparent image files embedded in web pages or emails that help us track user interactions.

2. Types of cookies we use

Essential cookies Required

These cookies are strictly necessary for Crestfolio to function. Without them, core features of the Service cannot work. You cannot opt out of these cookies.

Functional cookies Optional

These cookies allow us to remember your preferences and settings to provide a more personalized experience. You can opt out of these but some features may not work as expected.

Analytics cookies Optional

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our website by collecting and reporting information anonymously. This helps us improve the performance and usability of Crestfolio.

3. Third-party cookies

Some cookies on our platform are set by third-party services that we use to power Crestfolio. We do not control these cookies and they are subject to the respective third party's privacy policies.

Stripe

We use Stripe to process subscription payments. Stripe may set cookies on your device to facilitate secure payment processing, fraud prevention, and to remember your payment preferences. These cookies are essential for billing to function correctly.

Plaid

We use Plaid to connect your bank accounts securely. When you initiate a bank connection through the Plaid interface, Plaid may set cookies or use similar technologies to authenticate your identity and maintain a secure connection session.

We do not use Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or any advertising cookies. Crestfolio does not serve advertisements and we do not share your data with advertising networks.

4. How to control cookies

You have several options to control or limit how cookies are used when you visit Crestfolio:

Browser settings

Most web browsers allow you to control cookies through their settings. You can set your browser to refuse cookies, delete existing cookies, or notify you when a cookie is being set. Note that disabling essential cookies will prevent Crestfolio from functioning correctly — you will not be able to stay logged in.

Here is how to manage cookies in the most common browsers:

Opt-out of analytics

You can opt out of analytics tracking at any time by contacting us at matt@crestfolio.io and we will disable analytics for your account. Plausible Analytics, which we use, is privacy-friendly by design and does not collect any personally identifiable information or use cookies for tracking across sites.

Mobile devices

On mobile devices, you can control cookies through your device's privacy settings. On iOS, go to Settings → Safari → Privacy & Security. On Android, go to Chrome → Settings → Privacy.

5. Do Not Track signals

Some browsers include a "Do Not Track" (DNT) feature that signals to websites that you do not want your online activity tracked. Because there is currently no industry standard for recognizing and implementing DNT signals, we do not currently respond to DNT browser signals.

However, you can use the browser settings and opt-out methods described in Section 4 above to limit tracking on Crestfolio.

6. Updates to this policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time to reflect changes in technology, regulation, or our business practices. When we make changes we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

We encourage you to review this Cookie Policy periodically to stay informed about how we use cookies. Your continued use of Crestfolio after any changes to this Cookie Policy constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
